Arsenal To Swap Out Granit Xhaka For Christian Eriksen

Talk of Christian Eriksen joining Arsenal has been gaining momentum for some time now.

The playmaker is unhappy since switching sides from Tottenham to Inter Milan last January.

Antonio Conte does not rate him highly enough to make him a regular part of his plans. After an eventful final season with Spurs, Eriksen has been reduced to a squad player at just 28 years of age.

He definitely wants out of the situation and Arsenal are the perfect suitors. Mikel Arteta needs creativity in the middle of the pitch. Eriksen was after all one of the best in the sector during his time in the Premier League.

Tuttosport claims that Inter are “hoping to arrange a swap loan deal for Christian Eriksen in January and Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka is one player they are looking at.” The Gunners would not mind parting ways with Xhaka if it means recouped transfer fees or a needful player coming their way.

Xhaka has been decent during Arteta’s early months but fans are aware of his limitations as a player. With Thomas Partey added to the fold and Mohamed Elneny impressing, Arsenal might be better off signing players with a bit more attacking intent.

But whether Eriksen is the answer is up for debate. Arsenal are after all struggling financially, following four seasons without Champions League football and now into their fifth.
