Arsenal midfielder, Aaron Ramsey is due for a medical at Turin on Sunday despite not finalising terms with Juventus.
Latest reports claim that Barcelona have reignited their interest in the Welsh midfielder which could pave the way for the transfer of Denis Suarez to the Gunners. Unai Emery has been eyeing a move for the Spaniard but the Catalan giants are hesitant to sell him.
On the other hand, Ramsey’s representatives are still viewing offers from several other clubs before agreeing to any contract. The 27-year-old is set to leave the Emirates after a decade of service to the North London club.
However, a swap agreement between Barcelona and Arsenal for the two players certainly makes the entire procedure complicated. The Blaugrana can easily approach Ramsey with a pre-contractual agreement and get him for free.
With players like Ivan Rakitic, Sergio Busquets, Arturo Vidal, Arthur, Carles Alena, Rafinha, Sergi Samper and Philippe Coutinho, it is highly unlikely that Ernesto Valverde would like to make further additions into the midfield at this stage of the 2018/19 season.
Denis Suarez is reported to be worth in the region of £13m and Arsenal boss, Emery has already stated that permanent transfers are impossible right now due to the absence of funds. Spanish news outlets are reporting that Ramsey is only being offered to the La Liga side to bargain out a deal for Suarez.
Emery might not have enough leverage to bring the former Villareal player to the English capital but there is still significant of time left in the January transfer window. All the Gunners faithful can do now is hope for the best.
