Arsenal Want Face Serious Competition For Tyler Adams

Arsenal won’t have an easy path to USA international, Tyler Adams.

Mikel Arteta wants to bring in the RB Leipzig midfielder this summer, according to CBS Sports.

The Gunners are clearly looking for more quality additions to their midfield. With Granit Xhaka expected to leave for AS Roma post the 2020 Euros, Arsenal would need an overhaul in the creative department.

Martin Odegaard’s route back to the Emirates has proven to be really difficult. That means Arsenal will have to look at other targets, having missed out on Emi Buendia as well.

Tyler Adams possesses the unique ability of playing in multiple positions. He is primarily a midfielder who can play right-back too. That level of versatility will be useful for Arteta who is also looking to make an upgrade from Hector Bellerin.

Adams is 22 years old and breaking out as a serious talent in the Bundesliga. He already has 14 caps for USA and is said to have a release clause. Arsenal are ready to activate that clause but are facing competitions from side who can promise European football.

Leipzig, themselves are in the Champions League and have appointed Jesse Marsch, the coach who handed Adams his debut for the New York Red Bulls.
