Arsenal's Chances Of Signing French Youngster Improve After Contract Drama

Arsenal are strongly in the running for French midfielder, Christopher Nkunku as reports claim that the player is looking to leave Paris Saint-Germain after this season.

The Gunners have reportedly made progress in trading for the 21-year-old. They expect an offer worth £18m to be accepted by the Ligue 1 giants.

Unai Emery came very close to signing the versatile footballer in January but instead chose to acquire Denis Suarez from Barcelona. His limited transfer budget also hindered Nkunku’s potential arrival to the Emirates.

Now, Mercato265 is claiming that the Frenchman is refusing to extend his contract with PSG. His current deal is set to expire after just one more season.

The Ligue 1 giants might not take a chance on Nkunku like they did with Adrien Rabiot. The latter is now an outcast from the Parc des Princes after he declined to prolong his stay beyond the 2018/19 campaign.

Nkunku is kind of the player who Arsenal need at the moment. He got his start under Emery and has proven to be able to play from every midfield positions.

He has racked up 4 goals and 2 assists in 26 appearances this term. The youngster has earned plenty of caps for France at youth levels.
