Arsenal’s previous bid of £35m was turned down by Roma and the North London club might finally drop out of the race for the Turkish wingman. Under, 21 might have started the current season in impressive form but is not worth the price his parent club have set for him in Emery’s eyes.
Adding width into the Gunners lineup is highly necessary but Under might not be worth becoming the club’s second most expensive signing just yet. His contract is set to run till the summer of 2022 with 17 caps to his name for the Turkish senior national team.
The 21-year-old has a lot of pace under his boots along with a quality left foot. He could easily fit into the final third at the Emirates next to Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Under could leave La Magica as soon as this January since the club has refused to improve his pay structure. According to reports, the Turkish man is one of the club’s lowest-paid players, making around €1m per year despite being a starting figure under Eusebio De Francesco.
Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur have also expressed interest for the player. Reports claim that Arsenal are highly unlikely to meet Roma’s asking price and the club just might be ready to look towards other prospects.
