According to latest reports, Arsenal have contacted former Atletico Madrid winger, Yannick Carrasco for a transfer and the 25-year-old is supposedly keen on moving to the Emirates.

He currently plies his trade for Chinese Super League outfit, Dalian Yifang after signing from Atletico a year back for a £27m sum. Carrasco’s financial escape to the Far East might not have gone as planned with the Belgian falling out of the rotation in the senior national side.

He has 31 caps to his name for his country but was only considered as a substitute by Roberto Martinez in the 2018 FIFA World Cup or as a fullback. His current agreement with the Chinese club is set to run till the summer of 2021.

Carrasco’s career was on a swift rise right out of the AS Monaco academy all the way through to the La Liga with Los Indios. He had his moment against Arsenal in the 2014/15 season in the round of 16 of UEFA Champions League.

The 25-year-old came on in place of Dimitar Berbatov and scored the last goal of a 1-3 away wing against the Gunners to put his side through to the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Carrasco still has a lot of quality football left in him and Unai Emery is desperate to add more width and creativity into his attacking lineup. Daily Cannon predicts the Belgian could be available for somewhere in the region of £18m.
