New Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has told the press that star midfielder Mesut Ozil needs more time to get used to his playing style.
Arsenal have holistically shifted their playing style under Arteta to a high tempo, energetic, hard working yet enigmatic passing football style. Adapting both mentally and physically to such a system needs time.
While Ozil is one of the quickest players mentally, the same cannot be said for his physical prowess.
“He has been unlucky with some of the times that he has put people through and they have not scored,” Arteta said. “Things like that would have made stats a little bit different. But you don’t go from where he was to where he can be in five weeks, I’m sorry.
