Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has said that he wants to start alongside Alexandre Lacazette. Aubameyang and Lacazette have been Arsenal’s top scorers this season. The duo have scored a total of 38 goals for the Gunners so far.

However, Arsenal manager Unai Emery hasn’t always started the duo together. Generally, one of them starts while the other comes on as a substitute.

The duo started in Arsenal’s Europa League encounter against Napoli but Emery started Aubameyang against Watford last night while Lacazette was an unused substitute. Auubameyang eventually scored the winner for Arsenal.

Speaking about his partnership with Lacazette, Aubameyang said, “Everybody knows that I like to play with Laca because we have a great partnership.  Sometimes one plays, the other stays on the bench, it’s like that and you have to fight for the team.

think you know I like to play with two strikers, but I don’t want to say it because the coach will be a bit, er…(laughs)…

The Gabon international was also pretty glad with his goal against Watford last night. He said, “I was confident. It’s a long time I wanted to score a goal like this. It went through. I was confident. Normally keepers… they don’t really know if you’re coming back to them. It was a good goal for me, I like it.”

Aubameyang’s goal took his Premier League tally to 18 goals which drew him on level with Sadio Mane. Only Mo Salah and Sergio Aguero have scored more goals than Aubameyang.
