Barcelona joins the race for axed Arsenal captain Aubameyang

Aubameyang can lower his £350,000-a-week wages if they start negotiations.

Barcelona is planning to sign axed Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Arsenal man might be a good replacement for Sergio Aguero.

Aguero is going to hold a press conference on Wednesday, where he is believed to be announcing his retirement from football, due to a heart condition.

Aubameyang was recently axed from the Arsenal captaincy on Tuesday over disciplinary breaches. His long-term future at Gunners is now uncertain.

According to the Independent, Barcelona are weighing up a potential enquiry for the 32-year-old striker in the January transfer window. The Gabonese striker can lower his £350,000-a-week wages if they start negotiations.

The report also adds that the Catalan giants would consider a swap deal involving winger Ousmane Dembele.

Gabon International has made 163 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions, scoring 92 goals and providing 21 assists.
