Tottenham will host Arsenal in an important clash of Premier League.
Tottenham defender Ben Davies says they feel battle-hardened ahead of Thursday’s North London derby against Arsenal.
The match is like a playoff to decide the fourth place. If Tottenham wins here, they might grab the spot. The same applies for the Gunners as welll.
After securing 1-1 draw at Liverpool, Davies said, “We played against two of the best teams in the world football [in Liverpool and Manchester City] and to be unbeaten is a good little achievement but the league position will show where we deserve to end up and who we pick up points against isn’t really a concern.
“I like to think [we’re heading in the right direction]. We have to try to competitive against the best teams. I think we’ve shown that this year. We’ve got to up our consistency. We have struggled with that for a while but we’ve got to take the positives with results against teams like this.”
On Thursday evening, Tottenham will host Arsenal in an important clash of Premier League. This derby clash is special considering the tussle for the fourth spot in table. It will be played for the first time in front of a sold out Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“It’s a massive game. It’s been building up to this for a while. Even since it got postponed, we’ve been looking at when this game would come because we knew it would be important in the context of the season,” added Davies.
“Look for us now, Thursday’s huge. We know what we have to do going into it and there’s no hiding from that. We have to go out and try to put in a similar performance as we did today.
“We have to do whatever we can control. They’ve been on a fantastic run, you can’t hide from that, but there’s a lot of pressure on them to keep it up and do it in the remaining games. For us, we have to control what we can and try to win the game, try to win our remaining games. It’s not in our hands but we’ll see what happens.”
