Brazilian Football Federation Issues Statement As Edu Linked Up With Arsenal For The Sporting Director role

Brazil football Federation has issued an official statement regarding their coordinator Edu’s rumoured linkup with Arsenal.

The Gunners are contemplating appointing a sporting director and Edu appears to be in the frontline. The midfielder donned the Arsenal jersey previously and knows minute details of the club that is needed to run the North London club. Their foremost criteria before confirming an appointment are the candidate should have adequate knowledge of the club and needs to have a relationship with them.

Edu is aware of all the happenings in and around at the Emirates and thus fits the bill perfectly. But he does have a lengthy contract with Brazil which runs till 2022 and it remains to be seen how things fare in the future.

The statement read: “Regarding the news involving the Coordinator of the Brazilian National Team, Edu Gaspar, CBF clarifies: “The Coordinator of Selections, Edu Gaspar, has a contract with CBF until the end of the Qatar World Cup 2022.

“Edu Gaspar informed CBF that he received a survey of an English club, who explained that at the moment he is exclusively focused on the Copa América Brazil 2019.

“Therefore, CBF denies any speculation around names for the position of Coordinator. The entity has clarity of qualities needed for this position, which unite administrative capacity and great experience in the field.”
