Fernando Diniz, Brazil’s national team coach, has clarified his choice to include Gabriel Jesus in the squad for the upcoming international matches, despite the striker’s persisting injury issues. Jesus has been ruled out of Arsenal’s Champions League match against Sevilla, leaving fans and teams concerned about his fitness.

During a recent press conference, Diniz, understood for his tactical ability, addressed the problem. He confirmed his belief in Gabriel Jesus’ ability and the importance of Gabriel Jesus to the Brazilian team.

“In the last squad, we hadn’t called up Martinelli from Arsenal. He didn’t report to the CBF in a very complete way, so we didn’t imagine that Martinelli would be ready to play against Venezuela and Uruguay, and he was ready to play before our games.

“Because of this too, we’re going to bring Gabriel in to find out his real condition, because we still have 15 days to go until the games, so we believe he could be fit enough to play, because I like him a lot. We have 24 players on the list, and if anything happens to him we won’t need to change the squad.”

“Gabriel is a valuable asset to our squad, and we believe in his potential to recover and contribute to our campaign,” Diniz stated.

The decision to recall Jesus may appear bold, but it underlines Brazil’s faith in their star striker’s determination. The national squad will closely follow his condition and hope that he recovers quickly to help them in the upcoming international window.
