As part of their summer transfer preparations, Burnley has indicated interest in signing Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga

Manager Vincent Kompany wants to reunite with the gifted youngster.

Currently playing on Arsenal’s periphery, Lokonga doesn’t seem to be a vital member of the team’s plans for the forthcoming campaign. He was on loan at Crystal Palace for the second part of the previous season, but he was unable to have an influence that would have led to a permanent transfer to the Eagles.

As Lokonga mulls his options, he may decide to stay in the Premier League. Voetbalkrant says that Vincent Kompany has named Lokonga as one of the two players he wants to work with at his next club. Kompany just led Burnley to promotion back to the Premier League.

The former Manchester City defender might give Lokonga a new chance to shine and find his potential if he had the funding to make the right additions. We didn’t think Lokonga was good enough for the club, but Burnley, a mid- to lower-table team, will benefit from his presence.

He has already collaborated with Kompany, which should make life simpler for both of them as they attempt to do big things in England. He is not a key player for us, therefore we should readily agree to lend him out if they request it.
