Joel Campbell unsure of a Gunner future

Costa Rican winger Joel Campbell has admitted that he is unsure of his future at Arsenal.

The winger was not the part of the Arsenal’s pre-season tour and is reportedly expected to join the squad by the end of the week in London.

The player is in dilemma over what plans does Arsenal have for the player.

In talks with La Nacion, the player said, “This weekend, I’m traveling and they’ll decide what’s coming next,”

“I know that I have a lot left to show in football, so wherever it may be I’ll do things as well as possible to enjoy this sport.”

The player was signed by Arsenal in 2011 but has struggled to find a fixed club to play for since then.

He signed for Arsenal 2011 but received his work permit in 2013. As the player struggled to get a British work permit, he was loaned to French Club Lorient for the 2011-12 season where he scored 4 goals from the 27 games representing the French club.

He moved on to join the La lIga side Real Betis for the next season and he scored twice form the 33 games he played.

His travel plan continued as he moved on to be a part of Superleague Greece side Olympiacos for the 2013-14 season. he played 43 games for the side and scored 11 times.

He was then recalled to Arsenal for just 10 games in the season 2014-15 before again getting loaned to La Liga side Villareal. He scored in just one game from the 22 games he played.

He was finally the part of Gunners for the 2015-16 season where he represented the English side for 30 games and scored 4 times.

He was further loaned to clubs like Sporting Cp and Real Betis for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons respectively.

Last season playing for Real Betis, the playerd injured his ankle and knee and could not play for more than 9 games.

He said, It was a tough season because of the injury, at the end I grew more as a person because I already had been through the good and the bad of football”

“Now with this you can be a better person in the face of the future.”

Campbell still has a year left in his Gunners contract and he is determined to help his fellow player no matter which side he play for.
