Kai Havertz became Mikel Arteta’s first signing of the summer.

The 24-year-old midfielder has received some backlash for his performances in the first four games of the season.

Many fans questioned Arsenal’s authorities for signing the German international who already struggled to make a mark in the Premier League with Chelsea.

Havertz is yet to score a goal or an assist which is a huge concern for Arsenal fans especially after the hefty price attached to his summer transfer.

He missed a golden opportunity to put Arsenal ahead against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Club legend Emmanuel Petit claims the player’s attitude needs to change if he want to make an impression at the North London club.

He said: “I wasn’t surprised that Chelsea wanted to sell him [Havertz]. Arsenal need to be patient but I’m pretty sure he will be a hit with Arsenal.

“He was struggling at the start of the season and against Crystal Palace, he was lost at times on the pitch and wasn’t sure of his movements. I still believe that with the way he plays up front, he needs to improve his understanding with his new teammates.

“I believe he must improve his personality and character because he has quality. He has to fight against his own personality and character.”
