David Raya has written his name into the Premier League record books after securing his third consecutive Golden Glove award a feat only three other goalkeepers have ever accomplished.
Raya Writes His Name Alongside Reina, Hart, and Ederson with Historic Third Straight Golden Glove
The Arsenal shot-stopper clinched the honour on Sunday following the Gunners’ tense 1–0 victory over West Ham United at London Stadium.
The match delivered a dramatic twist when Callum Wilson found the net in stoppage time, only for referee Chris Kavanagh to disallow the goal after a lengthy review.
Officials ruled that Wilson had impeded Raya, and the Spaniard’s clean sheet survived.
That 18th shutout of the season officially crowned Raya as the 2025–26 Golden Glove winner with two games still to play.
The 30-year-old has now kept 67 clean sheets in the Premier League since the 2021–22 campaign – more than any other goalkeeper in that period.
Raya joins an exclusive club. Only three players in Premier League history have claimed the Golden Glove in three straight seasons: Liverpool’s Pepe Reina (2006–2008), Manchester City’s Joe Hart (2011–2013), and City’s Ederson (2020–2022). Raya now stands alongside them as the fourth.
His journey to this milestone began in his first Arsenal season (2023–24) with 16 clean sheets. He followed that with 13 last term, sharing the top spot with Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels.
This year, his 18 shutouts leave Manchester City’s Gianluigi Donnarumma trailing on 14 with only three games left too far to catch up.
Should Raya repeat the achievement next season, he would join Petr Cech and Joe Hart as the only four-time winners of the award.
For now, the former Brentford man can celebrate a historic hat-trick that cements his place among the Premier League’s finest goalkeepers.
