Declan Rice breaks silence on why he decided to join Arsenal this summer.

The English midfielder completed a club-record £105million move to the Emirates from West Ham in this summer window.

Arsenal faced stiff competition from the likes Man City, Chelsea and Manchester United for the former West Ham captain.

Man City even bid for the England international before he eventually made his move to the North London club.

So far, Rice has been brilliant for the Gunners showcasing his tactical intelligence and ball-carrying ability in games.

Rice revealed Mikel Arteta was a key factor behind his move to the Emirates.

Rice told Channel 4: ‘I have to say the manager, Mikel.

‘I think just from the moment that I met him I knew he was the one I wanted to take of the next part of my career.

‘Just the way he spoke, his aurora, the way he sees the game, the way he wants to play football, and I think we’ve seen Arsenal the way they’ve played the last two years, the way they’ve played as a team I really see myself fitting in.

‘So far that decision has paid off. I feel really at home.’
