Eddie Howe played down talks of him replacing Unai Emery at Arsenal.

It has been an eventful week for Premier League managers given how many of them gotten linked to the North London outfit.

The Gunners did pull off the sack on Friday and stated they are actively looking for a permanent replacement. For now, Freddie Ljungberg will take up the caretaker manager responsibilities in hopes to returning the team to winning ways.

Bournemouth’s Howe has been strongly recommened for his impressive work with the Cherries. The Englishman continues to lead Bournemouth well away from the relegation zone each season after earning promotion for the first time in 2015.

“I always say it (managerial speculation) is definitely not distracting for me. I shelter myself from any kind of news that doesn’t influence the team I am preparing to play,” said Howe.

“I always say if I am linked, or my players are linked, with other clubs, then that has to be flattering and viewed as a good thing. But I spend no time focusing on those things. All week it has been about preparing for Tottenham.”
