Eddie Nketiah, a forward for Arsenal, might be available for this weekend’s match against Fulham at the Emirates Stadium

After suffering an injury earlier this month, the striker was unable to participate in Mikel Arteta’s team’s thrilling 3-2 win over Bournemouth at the weekend. Nketiah was injured in last week’s 4-0 win over Everton by a blow to his right ankle, according to Football.London, and he immediately made his way to the tunnel after the final whistle.

Last weekend, prior to the league leaders’ match against Bournemouth, Arteta acknowledged that the 23-year-position old’s was a little “uncertain,” saying: “We’re evaluating him. It’s a bit unclear what will happen with him to be honest in the training sessions. Let’s leave our options open and take a look. He is very upbeat about it, so ideally everything will be fine.”

The striker was thrust into the limelight after Gabriel Jesus’ World Cup knee injury, and journalist Dean Jones recently claimed to GIVEMESPORT that some Arsenal supporters were being “ridiculous” for criticising Nketiah’s performance in the team’s 1-1 draw with Brentford last month.

Dinnery also thinks that the injury sustained by the backup centre forward won’t be “too severe.” This year, Nketiah has served as an excellent stand-in for Jesus, and as of yet, the Brazilian’s injury has not caused an Arsenal collapse.Since the Premier League resumed after the World Cup break, the £100,000-per-week player has scored four goals and given one assist, helping the Gunners maintain their lead at the summit of the standings for the time being.

According to FBref, the 5 foot 11 star ranks in the top 7% of forwards across Europe’s top five leagues, including the Champions League and Europa League, for touches in the opponent’s penalty area (6.74) and the top 9% for progressive carries per 90 minutes over the past 365 days (2.79) to show how well he compares to his positional peers in some facets of his game. Therefore, Arteta will be hoping that Nketiah will be fit for Sunday’s trip to Craven Cottage because if the former England U21 star is unable to play, the Gunners will have few alternatives for center-forwards.
