Arsenal are in the 5th spot of the Premier League and are on a 22-game unbeaten run but Unai Emery is far from happy. The Gunners boss believes there is still room for vast improvement, especially if they want to finish in the top four.
Emery did not have the most illustrious start to his Arsenal career, losing two on the trot against Chelsea and Manchester City. The former Sevilla managed to turn things around by introducing discipline and a winning energy into the side.
Plaudits from fans and pundits are well deserved on his end but everyone can agree with his sentiments.
“I think we need more,” he told Sky Sports. “We are fifth and our mind is focused on being in the first four positions.”
“The players are open to listening, with our new tactical work and analysis in videos. We need to work quickly, but we also need patience. We are improving step by step – and I think the players are also showing very, very good commitment and behaviour every day.”
Arsenal does have injury concerns going into the Southampton fixture this weekend.
With Chelsea matched on points in the 4th spot of the table, the Gunners cannot allow a slip-up.
