Unai Emery has hailed Rob Holding for his Arsenal performance last night against Nottingham Forest.
Asked about Holding’s return, Emery said: ‘It is perfect to have more options at centre back. ‘His spirit, his positive minutes. Every day in training he helps us to have more performances like a team. ‘He needed to take minutes and confidence. It was a perfect match. He was a little tired at the end, he’s happy.’
Holding who was the vice captain on the night was very happy to have scored a goal.
‘I was over the moon when I was told I was vice-captain,’ he told Sky Sports. ‘When Mesut came off and passed the armband over I was so happy with that. ‘Then it went perfectly again. Reiss put in a good ball and I managed to put my head on it.
Holding was very pleased by the returning Bellerin.
On Bellerin’s return, Holding added: ‘He came on straight away, had a touch and shot and ricochets out and he slides in for the assist. ‘So he’ll be over the moon with that. And Calum Chambers as well, three assists!’
