Arsenal’s number two Goalkeeper Martinez, is set to receive an international call-up from Argentine National team.

Although the 27-year-old is behind Bernd Leno in the pecking order, he has seen his playing time increase under manager Unai Emery.

TYC Sports claims that it is almost sure; ‘practically a fact’ that the Argentine will be a part of Lionel Scaloni’ Argentina team that will take on Germany and Ecuador.

Last week Martinez kept a clean sheet away from home in the UEFA Europa League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt, where Arsenal won 3-0. And then last night he kept a clean-sheet again in Arsenal’s 5-0 win versus Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup.

The more he plays over the next few weeks for Arsenal, the more likely he is to get the call-up.

He will also be benefitted by the fact that Franco Armani and Esteban Andrada are unavailable. They will be taking part in the semi-final of Copa Libertadores.

Martinez has previously played for Argentina’s U17 and U20 side and this will be his first senior call-up.
