Unai Emery provides injury updates ahead of Arsenal’s game against BATE Borisov
Arsenal resume their Europa League campaign with a potentially tricky round-of-32 tie against BATE Borisov. They travel away to Belarus for the first leg, that is set to take place tomorrow. In the wake of that, manager Unai Emery provides the injury updates on some of the players.
Sokratis has been out of action since he hobbled off against Manchester United in a FA Cup tie last month. Aaron Ramsey has been struggling with his knee injury, while Mesut Ozil was ill.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also encountered the same problem which the German had, meaning he missed the game against Huddersfield over the weekend.
Talking to the media ahead of the game, Emery provided updates on each of the above-mentioned players: “We are here with the players who I think are OK to play.
“The players not in the squad is because Ramsey has not trained with us, Sokratis has started to train but not enough, Mesut is the same.
“Aubameyang started Monday and I think he is OK for the match.”
Arsenal do not have a game in the weekend as they are out of the FA Cup. Hence, the next two games is this two-legged tie against BATE. As a result, they will get a full week’s time to get some players back fit for the home leg of this tie.
