Unai Emery has revealed what it would mean for Arsenal if they lose to Chelsea. The Arsenal manager has admitted to the fact that if his side lose against Chelsea, their hopes to qualify for the top four would be effectively over.

Their last week defeat against London rivals West Ham United widened the gap between them and the Blues by five points, which would be increased to nine if the Gunners lose to their west London rivals in their next encounter.

Speaking to the media ahead of their mega clash against the fourth-placed Chelsea, the Spaniard said, “After the loss in West Ham it’s very different to have a three points difference or six points difference. We have an opportunity in front.”

He added, “It’s not the same but if we win we can be closer than [after two games of the season when they had been beaten by Manchester City and Chelsea]. I think every player has this ambition, this opportunity to play Saturday with all we have against them.”

Speaking about the possible outcome of the match against Chelsea, the Arsenal gaffer said, “If you need to say to us today what is the prediction maybe we’ll see a match with goals. I want to score, I want to not concede. We are going to work to find that balance on Saturday. The first prediction maybe is there are two teams with big abilities to score.”
