Fabrizio Romano claims Ivan Toney would be perfect for Arsenal

Arsenal will be in the market for a new centre-forward this January.

The Gunners have failed to score in three of their last six games in all competitions as the squad lacks a reliable goalscorer up front.

The club lost Gabriel Jesus to a minor knee injury before the game against Liverpool and Eddie Nketiah is the only natural forward in the current lineup.

The North London giants have been heavily linked with Brentford striker Ivan Toney who has been a prime target for several Premier League clubs.

The 27-year-old striker would be a huge upgrade to current striking options Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.

Pundit Fabrizio Romano believes signing Ivan Toney will solve Arsenal’s problem in front of goal.

Romano said: “we’re continuing to see a lot of talk about Arsenal signing a striker, but, as Arteta mentioned after the Liverpool game, at the moment there’s nothing concrete – let’s see what happens in the next weeks. We will see what happens, but I think it’s looking very difficult to find a striker at the level Arsenal need in January.

“Of course, we know about the interest in Ivan Toney and he would be an excellent option, but the problem is he is very expensive as Brentford want crazy money or nothing. So, it’s a really complicated situation and for now I have no concrete updates to speak of, let’s see if the situation can change in the next weeks.”
