How Much Money Arsenal Are Actually Willing To Spend This Summer

Sky Sports pundit, Guillem Balague has questioned whether a mere €50m transfer budget will be enough for Unai Emery to transform this Arsenal side.

The Gunners finished fifth in the Premier League standings after a torrid run towards the end of the 2018/19 campaign. However, they can still salvage Champions League football by winning the Europa League over Chelsea on Thursday, the outcome of which will affect Emery’s transfer kitty for the summer.

“Of course I believe [Raul Sanllehi]. Would that be enough? We will see,” Balague told his YouTube channel, as quoted by the Daily Star.

“I said it before, it’s so surprising that Arsenal may have €50m (£44m), depending on sales and of course selling players will add to it. But so little with so much money coming in, there’s other debts to pay of course, will that be enough?

“Arsenal is in that transition. You cannot expect Arsenal to win the league next season, and I think more and more fans are understanding that this is a transformation of the club and it will take time – and money and backing from the club of course.”

It has been 15 years since the Gunners last won the Premier League. The club’s supporters should not expect their side to magically turn into contenders next season with this current lineup of players.
