Arsenal were at their dominant best against Bournemouth last night and Henrikh Mkhitaryan was one of their best players on the pitch.
The Armenian scored one of the 5 goals for his team during the home fixture to help his side close the gap behind Tottenham Hotspur to just 4 points.
Ever since he was signed from Manchester United on an exchange deal for Alexis Sanchez, the 30-year-old has not been at this best at North London.
However, it seems like Denis Suarez’s loan arrival in the January window has motivated him to step it up on the pitch. Mkhitaryan grabbed his 6th goal of the season last night while also adding to his assist tally of 6.
Ian Wright was pleased with the attacking midfielder’s performance as he said, “Mkhitaryan scoring, I’m really pleased for him, that’s six goals now, four assists he’s only started 12 games, it’s starting to happen for him, he’s doing brilliant stuff.”
Mesut Ozil was also on the pitch last night, doing what he does best with the ball. He opened the scoring for the Gunners with a sublime finish to beat Artur Boruc.
Talking about the German’s output, Wright added, “He kicks down onto the ball, on purpose. The goalkeeper’s going to go down, instead of chipping it over him, he bounces it over him, it’s such a brave finish.”
