The battle to get Jorginho is expected to be strong between Juventus and Barcelona in the upcoming January transfer window

Following the acquisition of Declan Rice, the Italian-Brazilian midfielder has lost favour at Arsenal, and it now seems that both parties are willing to call it quits in the near future. The end of June of the next year will mark the end of Jorginho’s contract. This makes it possible for Juventus or Barcelona to sign him in the January transfer window for a reasonably low fee.

Particularly Juventus have shown a strong interest in Jorginho because they see him as the perfect Paul Pogba successor. Juventus is lusting after Jorginho’s experience and quality as a vital addition to their midfield, bringing much-needed stability, as Pogba faces a protracted suspension owing to a recent failed drug test.

Barcelona is also interested in signing Jorginho as they are looking for a midfielder who can control the play and game’s tempo. Jorginho’s skill in this area fits in perfectly with Xavi’s playing philosophy and team-building objectives.

Although the result of this struggle for Jorginho’s services is still up in the air, it seems to be an intense duel. Both Juventus and Barcelona are fiercely interested in signing a player of Jorginho’s level. Both teams have significant positions in European football.

Jorginho’s potential transfer from Arsenal to Juventus or Barcelona would seem to be advantageous for all parties. Jorginho would have the chance to practise his craft at a top-tier European club, and Juventus or Barcelona would add a great, seasoned player to their midfield. Jorginho’s sale fits in with Arsenal’s financial goals, in their opinion. It is clear that Jorginho does not play a crucial role in Mikel Arteta’s plans for the Gunners as they actively strive to raise funds for fresh player acquisitions.
