Juventus Offer Daniele Rugani In Swap Deal For Hector Bellerin

According to the latest report, Juventus are offering up their out-of-favour defender, Daniele Rugani to Arsenal.

Andrea Pirlo wants Hector Bellerin at Turin and is ready to swap out one of his most sellable assets. Rugani, 26 has been a target for Arsenal for a long time.

His future at the Bianconeri is evidently over after appearing in just 2 league games last term. None of the managers who have been at Juve are willing to give him a real chance and it might be the right time to part ways. However, what does this mean for Bellerin’s North London future?

The Spaniard has been tied to heavy transfer speculation after a few inconsistent displays this season. An injury to the knee made him sit out the first half of the campaign and since coming back, he has not looked the same as before. The 24-year-old seems to have lost his pace and confidence on the ball, often indecisive with possession and on the defensive end.

He is still Mikel Arteta’s first choice at right-back, starting in both crucial FA Cup ties against Manchester City and Chelsea. Bellerin did start to look better towards the end of the season but questions have to be raised if he is good enough to play for Arsenal. His ties to the Gunners are still strong as he remains one of the oldest members of the current squad and even hailed as a future captain.

Arsenal also need to prioritise other areas than the right-back position. Selling Bellerin would leave them lacking in that position even if Rugani becomes an improvement at centre-back. The ideal scenario would be to move out all the deadweight from the club like Sead Kolasinac, Shkodran Mustafi, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Mohamed Elneny and Matteo Guendouzi before even entertaining such a deal.
