Why Arsenal wants to extend Bukayo Saka's contract

Arsenal is currently in the hopes of pinning down Gunners academy starlet Bukayo Saka down with them till 2025 – at least.

The reason they are doing this is because both Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in Saka. He has proved himself to be an upcoming player this season, with 27 appearances for Arsenal across all games, 3 goals and 9 assists.

Obviously, Arteta does not want to let go of the youngster so soon and according to journalist Nicolo Schira on twitter, the contract is all set to be extended. The journalist tweeted:

“#Arsenal are working to extend the contract of Bukayo #Saka until 2025.

“Last details to finalize the deal. #transfers #AFC”

Arteta has praised the Gunners teenager immensely, and knows the potential he holds for Arsenal in the future.

“He deserves a lot of credit for the way he is playing, because he is playing with a lot of courage as well,” Arteta explained.

However, Arsenal could lose Saka if the player refuses to stay. Saka is still being paid £3000 weekly, as part of his initial contract, ever since he joined Arsenal.

Bukayo Saka might want to leave Arsenal soon for more experience with bigger clubs not only in England, but Europe as well. Arsenal is struggling for a Champions League qualification as they dwindle at the 10th position still with 37 points, and that might make many players like Saka set to make exit soon.

Arsenal will face West Ham for a Premier League clash on 7th March, Saturday at 4 P.M. CET.
