Leandro Trossard could be the solution to Arsenal’s No.9 problem.
The Belgian forward has been deployed as a striker against Sevilla and Burnley and scored in the victories against both sides.
Since making his move to the Emirates, Trossard has scored seven goals and made 12 assists across 36 appearances.
Both Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah has struggled with injuries recently, so Trossard had to step up in their absence and delivered superbly.
There has been a debate about whether the Belgian should start ahead of Jesus or Nketiah in the final third.
Trossard explains that he is ready to be Arsenal’s main goalscorer if needed.
He told the club’s official website: ‘I don’t really mind playing all of those positions up top, to be fair. If it’s left winger, as a false nine, even as an attacking midfielder, I don’t really have a straight answer for that.
‘[As a kid I played] as a number ten, like a proper attacking midfielder back in the old days, or as a striker as well.
‘To be fair, when I started to play football, my grandad always told me, “you have to practice your left foot as well, it will help you so much when you become a professional footballer”.
‘When I started playing football, I always tried to use my left foot, even more than my right. I just back myself on either foot inside the box that I can score a goal.’
