Arsenal has increased it pursue of Aston Villa’s Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz. The Gunners, who are looking to strengthen their midfield, are apparently considering a swap deal to obtain Luiz’s services.

Despite previous failures to reach an agreement, Arsenal’s interest in the brilliant Brazilian remains.

Luiz, who is under contract with Villa until 2026, has emerged as the club’s primary target. However, Villa is hesitant to split ways with him in the middle of the season, recognizing his importance to their squad.

Arsenal is believed to be contemplating a smart approach to manage this complex scenario. According to rumours, Arsenal is thinking about sending midfielder Emile Smith Rowe to Aston Villa in exchange for Douglas Luiz. This idea is dependent on Villa’s continued interest in Smith Rowe, who has previously attracted the club’s attention.

The possible swap trade is motivated by Arsenal’s confidence that Luiz can contribute significantly more to their team than Smith Rowe has thus far.

It remains to be seen whether Villa will entertain the proposal or if Luiz’s outstanding performances this season will inspire them to play hardball in order to keep their star midfielder.
