Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has spoken out about his admiration for fellow midfielder Mesut Ozil.
Torreira arrived from Sampdoria for a reported fee of £26.5 and has been a revelation for the Gunners this season. His presence in the heart of the midfield has provided more freedom to the other players and the Uruguayan is very much relishing his duty at the Emirates stadium,
Unai Emery reportedly is not happy with Ozil and is on the lookout for a club who would be able to afford the German playmaker’s £350,000 per week wage. The Arsenal manager is short of funds due to the high pay packet and could offload him in a bid to add some much needed cash to the transfer kitty.
Torreira hails Ozil’s quality. “I’m really motivated to be a part of this team and I want to continue growing as part of this squad, which I think is a very good one.
“It’s incredible really to be able to be in the same squad as a player like Mesut Ozil and obviously other players too, players that have achieved a lot and have great quality. It makes me proud.
“I’m happy to be able to be in the same squad, and I try to learn from them when I’m on the pitch. It’s about gelling and trying to enjoy myself on the field of play so that fans have something to shout about.”
