Michael Carrick praises Arteta for molding his team in his own image.

Both the managers met last night in an intense Premier League clash where Man United beat Arsenal with a scoreline of 3-2 which was likely the last game for Carrick as a Man United manager.

Carrick has impressed since taking over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a win against Villarreal and a draw against Chelsea in the last game.

He has been thoroughly impressed by the job Arteta has done so far with Arsenal sitting two points and two places ahead of Man United in the Premier League table.

‘He was a terrific player, very technical, and that’s the way his teams play,’ Carrick told the official Manchester United website. ‘And obviously the way he has coached them in that style shows what type of player he was.

‘I think he’s done a very good job at Arsenal and you can see they’re going in a certain direction and been pretty strong with that.

‘So credit to him for that and it’ll be interesting to see how they get on for the rest of the season.’
