Mikel Arteta On The Changes He Has Made At Arsenal After Unai Emery

Mikel Arteta outlined the biggest changes he brought into Arsenal since taking over from Unai Emery.

Arteta revealed that he is trying to implement philosophy into the team after what has been a very poor start to the season.

“We have three analysts here that look a lot at the opposition,” Arteta said. “I do it myself as well, I like my assistants to look at it.

“But at the moment I’m focusing much more on our principles, our way of playing, the way that we want to play rather than the opponent. I don’t want to give them too much information about them and us, we don’t have much time to train.”

Arteta’s first win in charge of Arsenal was against Manchester United last week. The Gunners won 2-0 at the Emirates to climb up to the tenth spot of the Premier League. Arteta stressed on the importance of his support staff. He added, “The staff are very, very important.

“The players don’t live alone at the training ground, they are constantly interacting with a lot of people in the staff. Their feedback, their mood, the way they transmit their ideas and talk to them has a lot of impact, much more sometimes than just players talking to players. The leadership, sometimes, has to come from a lot of people in that building.”
