Uncertain future for Jakub Kiwior at Arsenal as AC Milan looms

Jakub Kiwior of Arsenal may be leaving the club less than a year after joining, with AC Milan emerging as a potential suitor. The Polish defender, who joined Arsenal from Spezia in January for a fee of £21 million, has failed to find regular playing time under Mikel Arteta.

Despite Arteta’s admiration for Kiwior, the 23-year-old has often found himself on the outskirts, frequently played as a left-back rather than his preferred center-back position. Kiwior’s prospects have been limited due to the established partnership of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes at the heart of Arsenal’s defense.

According to the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan has named Kiwior as a ‘priority’ target for the coming January transfer window. While Milan prefers a long-term agreement, they are open to the prospect of an initial loan with a purchase commitment.

Arteta, it appears, will not obstruct Kiwior’s prospective move to the Rossoneri, indicating a readiness to split ways with the youthful star. Kiwior’s Arsenal career, hampered by intermittent appearances, might be rewritten in Serie A.

As the January transfer window approaches, the football world awaits official confirmation of Kiwior’s future, as well as if AC Milan will be the club to provide him all the playing time and opportunity he requires to reach his full potential on the field.
