Mikel Arteta disappointed with a 2-2 draw against West Ham.
The Gunners were leading 2-0 ten minutes into the game at London Stadium, thanks to goals by Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard.
But the Hammers restored their two-goal after the break from goals by Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen.
Mikel Arteta’s men did have the chance to take the lead when Michail Antonio conceded a penalty kick.
Bukayo Saka stepped up to put the spot-kick wide of the post and Jarrod Bowen equalised just minutes later.
This was the first time in his club career that Saka missed a penalty and only the second time in his entire senior career.
The 2-2 draw leaves Arsenal just four points ahead of Man City with the Citizens having one game in hand.
Manager Mikel Arteta was quick to defend Saka after his penalty miss.
‘A player who takes penalties misses penalties, I don’t know anyone who hasn’t,’ the manager told Sky Sports.
‘If I had to pick one player to do it, it would be him again. In that moment we missed it and this is football,’ he added in his post-match press conference.
