Arsenal are about to be raided by Napoli for two of their senior centre-backs.
The Serie A outfit seems to have lost the battle for Gabriel Magalhaes to the Gunners. As the Brazilian flies down to London to finalize a deal, Napoli have turned their attention towards the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta has a string of players he wants to get rid and Sokratis and Shkodran Mustafi rank highly on that list. Fortunately, Napoli are interested in both of them. Both have just ten months left on their contracts and could be acquired for cheap. Mustafi has even spent time in the Serie A before with Sampdoria.
Napoli have accepted their faith on losing Kalidou Koulibaly to Manchester City this summer. That is centrally why they are going after reinforcements. They are monitoring Barcelona’s Jean Claire Todibo as well, who spent the year on loan with FC Schalke. Arsenal would definitely be open to letting Mustafi and Sokratis leave.
Getting them off their wage books would a huge plus in their recruitment plans for the summer. There was even a rumour over Sokratis asking the Gunners to cancel his contract, so that he may join Napoli on a free. Arsenal would like to get something out of this deal but offloading both of them would a huge win either ways.
