Newcastle waiting for Tierney's decision as they wait to sign the Arsenal defender

Ben Jacobs, a transfer expert, believes that there is a “possibility” that Kieran Tierney will be available this summer.

However, they won’t act “until the player decides” on his future. The Magpies have been showing interest in Tierney for a while. Eddie Howe’s team appeared to be planning their move for the Arsenal full-back at the end of the previous campaign.

They probably chose him because of his evident ability level and the fact that Oleksandr Zinchenko’s arrival at Arsenal last summer forced him down the team’s hierarchy.

Last season, Tierney only made six league starts, and Newcastle will have anticipated that he could try to move on from the club as a result.

Although there hasn’t been a breakthrough yet, Jacobs claims that he’s still very much on the Magpies’ minds and that his lack of playing time may soon force a decision to leave.

Tierney might well deal with that better, having played a good deal of European and international football. However, if he doesn’t show that he’s willing to move, Newcastle might well turn to another option, whoever that may be.
