Nicolas Pepe will struggle even in a smaller club

Nicolas Pepe should be offloaded this summer.

The Ivorian international has struggled to make an impact at the Emirates since his arrival in the summer of 2019.

The player himself wants to secure a move away from Arsenal in order to get more first-team opportunities.

According to reports, Sevilla has contacted Arsenal for Pepe’s signature but the financials remains an obstacle.

The Gunners are struggling to find a buyer in the price range of €25 million and even Leeds United are interested who are looking for a replacement for Raphinha who joined Barcelona this summer.

Even pundit Frank McAvennie believes moving to smaller clubs won’t really make Pepe better.

He tells Football Insider: “He’s blowing hot and cold Pepe, do you want that at Leeds?

“If he doesn’t do it in a team like Arsenal who are top half of the table and have been since he’s been there.

“Arsenal had been under a wee bit of pressure last season because of some of the performances and if he thinks that’s pressure, when he goes to Leeds he’ll know what pressure is. They demand it every game. They want to stay in the Premier League, that’s what the fans want.”
