Arsenal are inching closer to sign the Ukrainian defender.

The Gunners have reportedly started negotiating for the Man City left-back who is not anymore a part of Guardiola’s plans.

The defender has been at the Etihad since 2017 and has played 127 games for the club.

He has gone down the pecking order and Guardiola wants to sign Brighton defender Marc Cucurella this summer.

Sinclair said on talkSPORT: “It’s a tough one and I like Zinchenko. I think he’s a great servant to the club and he’s shown courage with what’s being going on in Ukraine, over there. He can play left-back and left-side in central midfield and he seems to be a good guy to have around.

He further added: “It [interest] doesn’t surprise me. Mikel Arteta has worked with him when he was at City and knows what great quality he has got. He knows what a great kid he is as well. I can also see the player a little bit frustrated. He’s been at City for a long time and he does play, at times, but he doesn’t play the A games.”
