Former Arsenal player Ray Parlour has told the club that they should not prioritize the signing of Wilfried Zaha this summer.
The Gunners are believed to be hot on the heels of the English winger who desperately wants to move out of Crystal Palace. Add to that the fact that Zaha wants to find a club in London only, where he is currently located and with Chelsea’s transfer ban on and Spurs not linked with Zaha, Arsenal are believed to be the prime contenders for the skillful winger.
However, Crystal Palace are playing hardball and are demanding a price way out of Arsenal’s budget reach and Parlour has told the Gunners to move on instead of wasting time on Zaha, as they need multiple reinforcements.
“He would be a good signing but it all depends on how much he is going to go for,” he told Sky Sports News.
“It’s reportedly [going to cost as much as] £100m – which is a lot of money. It’s a lot of money to splash out on one player.
“You might look at other players and other [defensive] positions that need strengthening as well.
“Depending on the budget we have to wait and see what happens but he is certainly a very good player with a lot of quality.”
