Paul Merson believes he can do a better job than Edu!

The Gunners spend almost £160million on six new players this summer and all of them are aged under 23.

They also managed to dispose of Willian to Corinthians by mutually terminating his contract with the club.

Paul Merson hits back at technical director Edu by claiming he can do a better job.

Merson said to Sky Sports News: “Tell you what I’d do a better job.

“I’ll tell you now, I could do both [Soccer Saturday pundit and Arsenal’s technical director]. If you’re successful you play on Sundays!.”

Former Gunners striker Kevin Campbell was unhappy with Merson’s comments and blasted him for not changing his perspective on Arsenal.

“Again, this seems to be a recurring situation with Merse, at times,” Campbell said to Football London. “Yes, Merse is a Chelsea fan.

“But he has played for the Arsenal. He has had great times at Arsenal. Again, it’s his opinion.

“But it’s the way it is done is the tough part. I watch it and I shake my head. I just think ‘Oh no, no’.

“I am watching and thinking ‘Merse, don’t go there, don’t go there, don’t even go there’.

“When things change, sometimes the opinions change and they come out with ‘I told you so’. Always remember, log it down and write in the diary.”
