Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey wants to know the reason behind the withdrawal of a contract extension that Arsenal offered him.

Ramsey’s current contract with the club expires at the end of the season. The Welsh midfielder said that there were talks of a new contract and he agreed to sign. However, the contract was withdrawn.

Ramsey who captained Arsenal in their win against Sporting CP said, “Hopefully somebody will come up and tell me why. I’ll accept that if there’s a reason. When the time is right, I probably will find out but that hasn’t happened yet.

There is no contract on the table at the moment so there is nothing for me to consider or whatever. We all know that the contract was taken away off the table. I’m not sure exactly why because a few weeks before we sort of agreed and I was ready to sign.”

Ramsey has been one of Arsenal’s key players in the past few years. He joined the club in 2008 from Cardiff City and has played 340 matches for the club, scoring 59 goals.

This season, Ramsey has appeared in all of Arsenal’s Premier League matches although he hasn’t started all matches.
