Remember the 2014 FIFA World Cup?

The goal which not only won the goal of the tournament but also the Puskas was scored by none other than James Rodriguez. The young Colombian had burst onto the international scene with great prominence and it saw Real Madrid fork out a huge amount to lure him from FC Porto.

However, post that his career trajectory never spiked up. At Real Madrid, despite impressive stats he was always a bit part player and bad went to worse when Zinedine Zidane took over.

Zidane never favoured the attacker and James was forced to go out on loan to Bayern Munich in 2017 in search of game time. At Munich, he was once again finding it tough to adjust and it resulted in him not extending the loan earlier this month once the two year spell got over.

James however, is still not wanted at Real. Zidane has made his flurry of signings and Rodriguez is not favoured. He will have to find a new club. One English club who could do with a player like him is Arsenal.

The Gunners are short on players out wide and desperately want to sign a winger who can help the Lacazette-Auba pair. Rodriguez fits the bill perfectly as he is not even expensive in the current market, something the Gunners will find hard to get.

However, reports are now saying the Colombian is not keen to join the English side and instead wants to join the Italian Serie A and play for Napoli. It is being believed contract talks are in place with Carlo Ancelotti’s side and Arsenal could be set to lose out on a major target if they do not act soon.
