Premier League rivals Arsenal have refused to rule out the possibility of authorising a loan move during the final days of the summer transfer window, which has given Southampton a major advantage in their attempts to entice Aaron Ramsdale to St Mary’s, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

The England international was only able to play in 540 minutes of Premier League action in the 2023–24 season as David Raya passed him in the standings. Having grown frustrated with having to sit out long stretches of games, he has been looking for a new challenge.

Ramsdale’s high price tag raised doubts about Southampton’s ability to sign him permanently, according to GMS sources, but Arsenal’s sudden decision to allow a possible loan exit created opportunities.

Arsenal Want £30million for Aaron Ramsdale

Although Mikel Arteta called Ramsdale exceptional, sources close to the situation told Caught Offside that Raya wants to go this summer in order to play more regular first-team football. Southampton and Forest are interested in the England international, but they are unwilling to pay the £30 million price tag that Arsenal has placed on his head. Raya is currently the undisputed number one goalkeeper after his £27 million arrival.

That can cause another team to make a move, or it might cause the Gunners to drop their asking price later in the window. According to talkSPORT, Arsenal may consider a loan arrangement if no one is willing to meet their asking price. Newcastle has also been linked to a bid for the goalkeeper.
