Arsenal had a very busy summer as Unai Emery was appointed as the new manager of the club as Arsene Wenger decided to leave the club after 22 years. The 46 year old signed a three-year deal worth £15 million.
He was given the charge with the task of rebuilding the squad and returning the Gunners to the European elite while challenging for other major honours.
After losing their opening two fixtures under the Spaniard against Manchester City and Chelsea, Gunners boast a 100 per cent record since in all the competitions since then.
Despite not being at their best against Watford on Saturday, they won the match 2-0. The win was their fifth in a row in the Premier League, with victories in the Europa League and Carabao Cup adding up to an impressive run for the London Outfit.
Club’s legend Robert Pires has backed Emery to be a success at the club.
Pires said as quoted by Sky Sports: “It’s very difficult for me to compare.
“With Arsene Wenger it was very good. Unfortunately this page is finished so we need to focus on the present and prepare for the future.
“The present for Arsenal, especially for the fans is to be passionate with Unai Emery.
“Of course he won with Sevilla and he won with Paris Saint-Germain, but this is a new challenge for him. It’s a new team, a new club, new football and the Premier League is more competitive.
“Maybe it will be difficult in the beginning but I think he can make a success with Arsenal. I believe in him.”
The London Outfit will face Qarabag in the Europa League on Tuesday and will be keen to make it their 8th consecutive victory across all competitions.
