Arsenal Determined To Retain Their Prized Asset Despite Interests From Chinese Club

Unai Emery has hailed the partnership of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

With the Arsenal boss mostly preferring a single striker upfront both Lacazette and Aubameyang have had to make way for each other to cope up with his strategy. While Lacazette has mostly played as the central striker, the Gabon international has been often deployed on the flanks for the Gunners this season.

Together the players have netted 30 goals in the top flight so far and have contributed another 14 making them one of the most prolific striking partnerships across the top European Leagues.

Emery who has worked with a number of top strikers admitted these two players have formed a lethal pair and he is very happy with the way they have worked so far.

“I had at Valencia, Villa and (Fernando) Morientes; (Roberto) Soldado and (Aritz) Aduriz.

“I had at Sevilla (Kevin) Gameiro and (Carlos) Bacca. I had at Paris Saint-Germain, Cavani and Mbappe. Here I have Aubameyang and ‘Laca’. It’s perfect.

“Each striker has his qualities and characteristics but one is similar. They are strikers and score a lot of goals. All of them.

“That’s Villa, (Alvaro) Negredo, Carlos Bacca, Gameiro, Cavani, Morientes, and Soldado, and now here, Lacazette and Aubameyang. It’s the same.

“We need a lot of good passes, good crosses, to give them the best option to score in the box. We can be proud that both are with us.”
