Football analyst and former Arsenal midfielder, Adrian Clarke believes that Unai Emery might have an issue with playing both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
He said, “Well they love to combine, that is for sure. But Aubameyang often starts out on the left but he’s not a natural wide man, he will want to join in.
“And I think Unai Emery wants Aubameyang and Lacazette to form a strike partnership ultimately. But it’s about finding the right balance in the team.
“I think on paper it’s the system [playing two strikers] that surely will work best for Arsenal moving forward, getting those two combined. They’re both selfless players, they love to produce combos. But, what happens behind those two? I think that’s the big issue for Arsenal at the moment.
“They have to get that balance right in midfield for him to have the confidence to play with a proper front two.”
Aubameyang the Gunners’ leading scorer this season with 22 goals in 39 games while Lacazette racked up 14 in 38. While the two have great chemistry on the pitch, Emery will have to figure out a way to keep the rest of his team producing efficiently with the duo together on the pitch.
