Unai Emery Insists Arsenal Must React After Getting Down To 10 Men

Unai Emery feels Arsenal must need to adapt positively with 10 men following their Europa League defeat to Rennes on Thursday.

Alex Iwobi truck very early to set the tone for the match but the Gunners lost the plot soon after Sokratis received the marching orders just before the break. The French side took full advantage of the situation and reduced the parity immediately.

A Nacho Monreal own goal and a late Ismaila Sarr strike were enough as the  North Londoners now have a mountain to climb in the second leg. Disciplinary issues seem to be creating a problem for the Spanish manager.

Influential midfielder Lucas Torreira saw a red card in the 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur and will miss the Manchester United match as a part of his three match suspension.

Emery said, “I think we changed more than we want, but a red card can come.

“Two yellow cards and it’s the referee’s decision. After, I think we must learn to play – when it’s coming like today – with one less player on the pitch.

“Not a good experience today, because we couldn’t do our work in difficult moments, in difficult minutes, with one less player, like we wanted. I think we can do better.”
